EVBV – IAGHS – IBH
A strong alliance for Europe's professional drivers
The EVBV-IAGHS (Europäische Vereinigung der Berufskraftfahrer-Verbände – Internationale Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Humanitäre Hilfe im Straßenverkehr e.V.) was founded in 1970 as an alliance of several European drivers' organisations. Its goal has always been to provide cross-border support for professional drivers.
With the IBH – Internationale Berufskraftfahrer-Hilfskasse e.V., founded in 2012, we offer fast and simple assistance in the event of accidents, illness or death – financed by donations from companies, sponsors, clubs and private individuals. Many thanks to all our supporters!
For the founders of the E.V.B.V. and the I.A.G.H.S., a passion for helping others was an essential prerequisite for membership in the association. Even today, it would be difficult to find a member who does not embody the philosophy of the association.
The IBH is recognised as a non-profit organisation – donation receipts can be issued.
We are politically and religiously independent and act according to our philosophy:
Free to write – free to act – free to tell.
Our goals
Representation & support
We coordinate the activities of our member associations and represent their interests towards authorities and institutions at regional, national and international level – always with an eye on the challenges facing road transport.
Community & cohesion
We promote a strong chain of friendship among Europe's professional drivers – for greater mutual support, a better public image and a more attractive profession.
Professional competence & solidarity – investing in the future
Professional training is the best foundation for a secure and successful future in the profession. That is why we are not only involved in emergencies, but also take preventive action:
At regular meetings with representatives of our member countries, we exchange experiences and provide information about legal and technical innovations that affect the everyday working lives of drivers.
Voice of the drivers
We take complaints and suggestions from drivers seriously and forward them to the relevant authorities – especially when it comes to changes in European traffic regulations.
Rapid assistance in emergencies
We help drivers in emergency situations – whether after an accident, in the event of illness or death – without bureaucracy and within the scope of our possibilities.
In order to continue to fulfill these tasks, we rely on the support of our members and sponsors – whether in the form of active or passive membership (minimum contribution: £20 per year) or through targeted sponsorship for projects and events.

Examples of assistance & donations
Thanks to numerous donations and aid operations, many drivers and their families have already been able to receive support. This assistance demonstrates how joint commitment makes a real difference – for greater solidarity and cohesion on the roads.
March 2024
€2,000.00 to Tim E., who was seriously injured in a severe truck accident at the end of 2023. His truck overturned, skidded across the road, and a guardrail severed his left arm. In addition, his jaw was shattered and he suffered severe blood loss. After being trapped in the vehicle for several hours, he was flown to a specialised clinic. Despite all the challenges, Tim fought his way back to life. With our donation, we were able to help him purchase a specially adapted vehicle that now gives him greater mobility.
2017
€12,000.00 from BKF Schleswig-Holstein (as part of the dissolution of the association)
